I started making these fire starters because I wanted a clean, reliable way to make my fire for myself. Our eco fire bars work for any fire, inside or out. They are 100% clean, and I believe, they make the experience of lighting a fire,

I started making these fire starters because I wanted a clean, reliable way to make my fire for myself. Our eco fire bars work for any fire, inside or out. They are 100% clean, and I believe, they make the experience of lighting a fire, pleasant! Just light the cotton wick and you get a flame that will last at least 12 minutes and grow to be around 10 inches high.

Colin wanted them to be smooth and feel friendly, and be convenient to carry.
But, by far, the most important part was to use only the best ingredients. They actually are clean enough to eat!

I had a problem lighting my fire. I was living by myself, off grid, on an island in the Irish Sea from 2006 to 2012. I could not light my coal fire. I would be freezing or I would have my tiny cabin filled with smoke. I invented these for myself, because I wanted a fire starter that I could trust and didn't make me s

I made these and then it snowballed into a business because friends and locals asked me to make them some. It just kept growing.
